This electronic rework of Mirek Coutigny's first single in 2018 is the first track of a rework project with also new versions of his music by Mattias Decraene (MDCIII), Tom Soetaert (Outer) and Nele De Gussem (Uma Chine).

"The reworks offer an opportunity to delve deeper into the original songs. In this case I investigated: what appears when the piano disappears from the foreground? In 'As The Birds Fly' I suddenly saw the many layers of percussion and atmospheric electronics in the foreground. As a drummer Jonathan Bonny was always a big part of the sound of the first two albums. So together with him I worked on a new version that highlights the diversity of this percussion".
